MacDonald Safety Corridor Protocol — Module A

The Gateway: Upper Spine, Cranial Base & Vagal Signaling

Saturday, June 6th, 2026 | Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel

Primary Focus:
Occiput • Cervical Spine • Upper Ribs • Cranial Nerves • Social Engagement System

This one-day immersive training focuses on the gateway of neurological safety — the upper spine and cranial base where vagal signaling, cranial nerve function, and spinal tone first organize.

You’ll learn how to assess and adjust the occiput, cervical spine, and upper ribs with a clear emphasis on how the nervous system receives input, not just where contact is made. The goal is to reduce threat, improve communication between the brain and body, and support deeper neurological regulation.

A central theme of this module is the FACE as a real-time indicator of safety and readiness. Because the face is regulated by cranial nerves — not spinal nerves — it offers immediate insight into autonomic tone and social engagement. You’ll learn how to observe facial tone, affect, eye movement, and expression to guide both timing and delivery of your adjustments.

This module stands alone and can be taken independently. It also integrates seamlessly with other Safety Corridor modules, allowing doctors to enter the work through the region or clinical challenge most relevant to their practice.

 What You’ll Walk Away With

You’ll leave with clear, repeatable principles and protocols you can apply to the occiput, cranial base, cervical spine, and upper ribs regardless of the chiropractic adjusting technique you currently use. This work is technique-agnostic by design. Rather than asking you to change how you adjust, it shows you how to amplify the regulatory impact of the adjustment you already deliver.

You’ll develop a practical understanding of how cranial nerve feedback influences spinal tone, postural organization, and adaptability. By learning to read the face and upper body as indicators of neurological readiness, you’ll be able to choose better timing, contact, and delivery — helping your adjustments land more consistently and with greater ease.

You’ll also learn how to implement the Safety Sandwich to improve access to the nervous system before, during, and after your adjustment. This approach helps reduce threat, increase receptivity, and support vagal signaling, allowing your adjustments to be more effective with less effort and a lower likelihood of unexpected or exaggerated responses. The result is a calmer experience for both you and the patient, and more predictable clinical outcomes over time.

What Chiropractors Are Saying About the MacDonald Safety Corridor Protocol

The MacDonald Safety Corridor Protocol was designed to enhance, not replace, the chiropractic techniques doctors are already using. Chiropractors consistently share that the protocol gives them clearer neurological feedback, greater confidence at the table, and a deeper sense of regulation in their practice members.

Here’s what doctors are saying after attending the seminar:

“The MacDonald Safety Corridor Protocol adds tweaks to your current adjustments to bring you to the next level of care. It adds an extra layer of checks to amplify what you are already doing. It is suitable for every technique and is not overly time-consuming to add to what you are already doing.”

“I would describe it as a way to assess trauma-holding patterns in the body and a toolbox or skillset to be able to alleviate that stress locally to provide a sense of neurological safety globally.”

“This excellent protocol works perfectly in line with a principled chiropractic approach to assessing the spine and nervous system. The enhancements of this protocol can apply to any technique, and the intertwined polyvagal concepts bring greater clarity to care.”

“It’s a protocol that helps you understand and identify when the nervous system is operating from a threat or defensive dynamic and guides you toward calming and bringing the system into a state of ease.”

“This weekend was exactly what I needed. It was filled with knowledge, skill, connection, and community. I left feeling inspired and excited for practice on Monday. I would love to do this seminar again as there was so much valuable information. I highly recommend it. Don’t think twice about signing up. You will not regret it.”

We hope to see you in Calgary!
